I finished this cute little lap quilt with one week to go – pretty proud of myself. I can’t wait to see my sister open it.
I chose this fabric for her quilt because it says “Les Amis De La Foret” (friends of the forest). She loves the outdoors and works hard to protect wild animals and their environments. I tease her all the time about being a tree hugger, but the truth is the trees, little frogs, and turtles in her part of the world are lucky to have her on their side. 🙂
Speaking of wild little animals…
This binding thing gets easier with every quilt I make. I’m actually enjoying it now. See how neat the corners are? So proud. 😉
I’ve been busy, busy, busy making a couple of quilted gifties for Christmas. I can’t wait to wrap them up!
This yellow/green lap quilt uses zig-zag stitching that I absolutely love. It’s the third quilt I’ve created using this pattern (Easy Does It! by Darlene Zimmerman).
And this colorful quilt was created using the adorable Le Amis Fabric Collection. The colors are so cheerful and the animals on it… SO cute! The owls and turtles are my favorite.
And as if I don’t have enough sewing projects to work on already, today I gathered some cute fabrics to make a wintery quilt. Since I won’t be able to finish it by Christmas, I thought I’d avoid red and green and instead try reds and grays and aquas so it can be used all season long. I’m thinking a checker-pieced pattern here… with double-stitch quilting… and I’ll probably change my mind ten times before I actually get started. 🙂
